CANOPY NEW MUSIC's line-up at this year's NARC/Ouseburn Festival has been announced! There will be plenty for music lovers to witness with 8 different local promoters hosting their own stages around the Ouseburn Valley area of Newcastle upon Tyne. We have these groups for your listening pleasure:
THE AGE OF WIRE AND STRING - Newcastle/Glasgow freely improvised trio featuring Jamie Allen (electronics), Peter Nicholson (cello) and Neil Davidson (guitar). Canopy fan's favourite gig of last year, don't miss them this time!
MUSIC FOR ONE - Canadian born Sherry Ostapovitch performs solo for us with her beautifully sparse resonater guitar textures. For a better idea, check out the review of her new album in The Wire here- http://www.musicforone.com/press.htm
CISSY - Leeds based AfroBeat ArtRock ensemble will be tearing the dancefloor up with their off-kilter polyrhythms.
MASSIVE BLACK MOUNTAIN - Rocks and debris lying amongst half-built electronic machines forging a slab of sound infintely thin, impossibly dense...
